Video 3 - Moderate Sized Parkinsonia Ammonite

Here’s a great example of a well formed Parkinsonia ammonite shell, no major defects.

The fossils here are 160-170million years old from the Jurassic brown Jura, i.e. Dogger formation.

The matrix is a brown oolitic rock with the fossils all being calcified. Creating marvellous fossil specimens once prepped!

Video 5 - Large Rare Garantiana Ammonite

This is quite a special ammonite, these Garantiana ammonites are rarely seen in this size, so show casing the specimen is key.

The fossils here are 160-170million years old from the Jurassic brown Jura, i.e. Dogger formation.

The matrix is a brown oolitic rock with the fossils all being calcified. Creating marvellous fossil specimens once prepped!

Video 8 - Small Garantiana Ammonite

A great example of you typical Garantiana ammonite fossil. The smaller fossils have typically are in better shape than the larger ones. Here you can see the shell is intact.

These are great wee fossils, Obornella a type of Jurassic snail that inhabited the ocean floor some 168million years ago.

Video 6 - Parkinsonia encrusted with calcite sediment

Some of these fossils are coated in a calcitized sediment, which quite difficult to remove, but fear not, nothing a bit of vinegar can’t fix.
